This was the second to last brewed batch sparge outside on propane. My last outside brew is a Patersbier but all early indications is it’s a dumper. I’m not giving up on it (yet) but my first taste sux.

My first inside no-sparge brew on the RIMS and induction burner is a Cream Ale under spund now. It was a 6 hour brew day, learning the new system beer but I have high hopes for that one. It’s my Memorial Day weekend beer.

You have quite the pipeline going over there. You’re gonna need to open a brewery. I like the lodge across from Yellowhammer for a good location. I am working on the premise here that 5 breweries in one spot would bring more business to all.

LOL. I am about to retire so I can stay home to take care of SWMBO.  ...not open a brewery.

Mosaic Amber Ale.

This was supposed to be Mosaic Pale Ale, but, based on the color and significant caramel taste, I think I swapped my Munch and Caramel 60 percentages. Was supposed to be 5% C60 and 10% Munich. I think I must have flipped those on accident.

The beer tastes good. So, there’s that.

Finally got my hefe color right!

* 57% Weyermann Wheat
* 38% Root Shoot Odyssey Pils
* 5% Carahell

Mash:

Main:
* 111°F 10 minutes
* 125°F 10 minutes
* Pull 1/3rd decoction: 160°F 15 minutes, boil 20 minutes
* 148°F during decoction
* 158°F 25 minutes
* 170°F 10 minutes

A 6.6% ipa, golden promise and flaked rye and some gno. Hops where, columbus, strata, and amarillo. Yeast was wlp007.

I got me some of that Amoretti Watermelon Purée. I added one pump to a glass of English Summer Ale. Not bad. 10x better than that crap I ruined a whole 5 gal batch with last summer. Plus, now I don’t have to drink 5 gal of Watermelon Beer. I can have a few glasses and call it good. The Gkids can add the rest of it to soda or water.

Good idea. I can enjoy one or two glasses of fruit beer.  No way, I want a whole keg.

It did. ...and they recommend one pump for a 12oz glass. I drink a 20oz pint and it was plenty IMO. Very concentrated evidently.

But of course, I really like what it brings to the palate.   GP/pils blend for base w/ carahell.  Cheers, man!
