Sitting here, pau hana in my loft, sipping a Drink Your Words corriander lager, and watching an amazing sunset behind Mauna Loa.  The clouds are on fire!

No moon until 3AM tonight.  Soon I'll repair to the lanai for star gazing in the recliner with homemade extra-dry martinis.  The Milky Way dominates the night sky here now.

Hawaii!

Killing me softly with his song,
Killing me softly with his song,

The UK is being hit with heat and, where I am, monstrous humidity. This has been a crazy year weather wise (early heat and drought, then cool and very wet, now hot again), and is definitely having an impact on crops. There are warnings that there is going to be a significant rise in grain and hop prices in the UK as a result of poor yields stemming from the weather.

So where are you guys located (Pinnah and 1vertical)?
Me= Central BFE Whyoming

Ah, I figured you were in CO with the mushrooms in Telluride reference.
So I gotta ask:  I've seen BFE and Wyoming together in other places - a Google search of BFE was less than fruitful, tho' it did give me an inkling what it might stand for - what does tha acronym stand for?

We were talking about southwest Colorado.  The early monsoon is making for some damp weather in mushroom territory.

Wyoming and BFE do seem to go together...west Texas and parts of Nevada also come to mind.  The Urban Dictionary is always a good reliable reference when it comes to vague and colloquial acronyms... :D  I think it mentions under BFE - in the middle of metaphorical nowhere.

BTW Vert, I spend the last two days above Telluride.  The only mushrooms I saw were growing out of wood.  Despite the moisture...perhaps it is just too early?

Yep, that's what I sorta figured it stood for.  Thanks.

I've seen a few patches while out hiking, but not too many. With all the rain I'd imagine there will be a ton of them coming up in the next few weeks.

Hot... not plains hot, but hot enough. 92 with a heat index of 101 in Miami. Could cool off in the Atlantic but the surf temp is 88 so that doesnt work either.

Rainy - sunny - rainy - sunny...  Tradewinds are doing their thing.

I just got done doing some PM on my stringline trimmer and had intended to weed-whack the heck out of my yard.  Weed-whacking wet grass is not gonna get it.  Can't work in the hives cause the girls get real cranky if I open them up when there's rain nearby.  Guess I'll go jump in the water and spear some dinner.  Sashimi anyone?

looks like this heat wave has finally hit Silverton. We came very close to 80°F today. :o

Heh, guess that passed.  I was up county road 12 this morning early and it was 38 degrees! :o
Looked like Silvertown had a bit of river fog going.

Days are getting shorter, better get some wood stacked. ;D

Ah dang it's only getting hotter here. Gonna be 100 heat index by noon today. I'm watering my foundation. Can't wait till late October when the air should cool down some.

So what is summer only one month long up there?

We have 3-5 more weeks Euge but it is a harsh climate here....often get frost the last week of August.
