So the radishes are history, but we're eating spinach salads everyday and I'll probably have to pull the rest of it soon before it bolts.  I'll probably use it in a big batch of spinach lasagna.  I have a second row of spinach I planted 2 weeks after the first and it's about to be ready to eat also.  Some of the onions are flowering so I'll be pulling them soon.   The beets are coming along but the carrots are lagging behind. 
The herbs are doing great, I'll pick a bunch of cilantro today to make salsa for chicken fajitas.  We're eating parsley and basil almost every day in something, and the thyme and oregano are thriving.  For some reason th peppermint iss healthy but not spreading like usual.

A few questions for those of you with more experience:
 1. My blueberries are doing horribly - wilted leaves, although the fruit looks like it's forming. My soil is really clay-like, loamy. Could this be the problem?

  4. My hops have holes in their leaves. Will this keep them from growing, or prevent the hop cones from forming? What could it be? I've seen ants crawling on them but I didn't think ants liked hops.

Blueberries need acidic soil, so clay isn't good for them. Get some diataceous earth or compost and put it around the plants, and they should do better.

Holes in hop leaves will most likely be from slugs at night. Unless they eat the whole plant, I wouldn't worry.
 

Ah so I don't have to dig the blueberries up, I can just sprinkle the dirt on top?

Slugs... Yeah, I see their shiny trails when I get up in the morning but they usually hang out around the low garden wall we have. I'll sneak out late tonight and check.

I really hope that's been Photoshopped.  That's a really nasty, vile looking creature.  OTOH can you eat them like escargot?

OH yeah I forgot. I got a call from the asparagus farm this am.
They are sending my 3 yr. Old crowns. I guess I will be planting
them in the trench I prepped last fall.  Yep a nice crop o spear grass....
in a couple years.

Hrm - can I put mulch down instead or does it need to be soil? I have a lot of weeds growing around there as well so it's not covered up just yet - still waiting to see how many shoots I get coming off of the rhizomes.

I havn't seen one quite that big but the banana slugs here in northern cali are easily 6-8 inches long.

Got a corn question for anybody who knows - I did the standard three seeds per hole and in some of my rows I've got more than one (sometimes two or three) seedlings sprouted. I don't wanna just throw them out - would it work to leave them, or is that going to ruin the whole group? If so, what's the best way to transplant?
