Galleries are a sneaky beast on this site because we use a mix of legacy galleries, the modern gutenberg gallery block, and custom HTML and groups of blocks that mimic a gallery.
The goal is to make them as editor friendly as possible, so note we are still auditing all galleries on the site and providing usage notes as needed!
Stock Lightbox Gallery
This gallery uses the G lightbox JS plugin. Note to utilize this style you must use the legacy shortcode (because as of this writing there is no way to modify the output of a gutenberg block). Clicking the image will open a larger version in a lightbox. Note the fact the titles are hyperlinked here was done manually before we had the listicle post type… so we still need an example of this gallery in the wild. Captions also supported.
Gutenberg – Default Gallery
If you only need a simple grid of thumbnails (no lightbox) feel free to use this gallery! IMPORTANT choose ‘thumbnail’ as the image size. No real world example yet.

Gutenberg – Round Gallery
Usage: Add .round-gallery to the additional classes field of a wp-gallery block. Only captions are supported here. This has not been used in the wild yet…

Need a simple rotating slideshow? This slideshow only is available on the advertise pages, but we could enable it site wide! (Lisa to confirm how this works) Example.
Contact Card Gallery
Here’s an example of a manual gallery that features extra content with each image. We could build this into the gallery shortcode if desired, or use the rounded gallery… or just copy and paste this block! Example
Square Gallery

Gift Guide Gallery
The 2020 ‘flipper’ style gallery has been deprecated, and so stay tuned for a new gallery style to use for this year’s gift guide!
